Airtel forms new telecom entity for digital push

Bharti Airtel Ltd on Wednesday reported another corporate construction that will allow the telco to sharpen its emphasis on digital assets and open worth from India’s digital opportunity.

The telco has framed another subsidiary, Airtel Ltd, which will house all its telecom business. The digital assets, including Wynk Music, Airtel Xstream, Airtel Thanks, Mitra Payments, Airtel Ads, Airtel IQ, Airtel Secure and Airtel Cloud, which were prior under Airtel Digital Ltd, have been converged with the parent organization, it said in a trade documenting.

Bharti Telemedia Ltd, a completely claimed direct-to-home (DTH) subsidiary of the telco, will keep on working as a different content for the present, however will in the end be converged with Airtel Ltd, the organization said.

“Bharti Telemedia, the 100% arm working DTH services, will sit close by Airtel Ltd until further notice. It is expected to in the long run overlap the DTH business into Airtel Ltd to move towards the National Digital Communications Policy, 2018, vision of converged services to clients,” the firm said.
