Airtel Payments Banks launches ‘Safe Pay’

Airtel Payments Bank on Wednesday launched a method of safe digital payments to protect clients from online frauds, the organization said in a statement.

Airtel Safe Pay is an extra divider that will forestall online frauds when clients transact through UPI (unified payments interface) or net-banking using the Airtel Payments Bank. The new payment gateway, which is liberated from cost, will offer assurance against phishing, taken accreditations or passwords, and telephone cloning, it said.

“Airtel Safe Pay use Airtel’s telecom exclusive strength of organization insight to give an extra layer of payment approval contrasted with the business standard of two-factor verification,” the subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd said.

Airtel Safe Pay will permit clients of the payments bank to go through with digital transactions across dealers, online retailers, and move cash. Clients can open an Airtel Payments Bank account through a video call using the Airtel Thanks application.

“As digital payments become the standard, particularly in the post-pandemic world, we likewise need to address the difficulties of frauds that are developing quickly,” said Anubrata Biswas, overseeing chief and CEO (MD and CEO), Airtel Payments Bank.
