Swiggy, ANRA get approval to start drone trails

An ANRA Technologies-led consortium, of which Swiggy is a section, has received clearance from government specialists to begin drone trials for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in India.

Over the course of the following half a month, the flight group will lead BVLOS food and medical package deliveries in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah and Punjab’s Rupnagar districts using ANRA’s SmartSkies technology, the coordinated airspace management firm said.

The development comes two days after ET detailed that the first experimental long-range drone flights in Quite a while are due to take off later this month. On the off chance that successful, they could make ready for drone-based delivery of medications and vaccines to electronics and food.

“Swiggy is excited for the potential that drones offer and look forward to trials on BVLOS activities for the using case of food delivery,” the organization said in a statement. “Through Swiggy’s association with ANRA, Swiggy means to put the long-range proficiencies of drone technologies to best use and achieve some ground breaking trials.”
