Why is NSDC better than AICTE?
National Skill Development Program (NSDC) is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model. It was set up by the Ministry of Finance and is a non-profit public limited company. NSDC provides funds to arrange vocational training activities across various institutions.
It focuses on government-funded activities and also provides funds to private companies and organisations that train individuals with professional skills. Looking at how NSDC operates, it is notable that it also partners with various non-profit organisations to improve livelihood, by encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship programs for candidates. In this way, NSDC also extends its support to entrepreneurs in the early stages of a business.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a national-level council that functions under the authority of the Department of Higher Education. Its primary responsibility is planning the development of the technical and management education system in India. However, when it comes to comparing NSDC and AICTE, there are concrete points that prove NSDC is better.
Firstly, AICTE follows a traditional academic pedagogy as compared to NSDC which focuses on training individuals on industry skills. Therefore, and very rightly NSDC is considered to be one of the functional arms of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
It imparts comprehensive training on a range of skills required for working professionals whereas AICTE selectively limits itself to technical education.
Additionally, NSDC also offers government-approved degrees and diplomas in various fields apart from its financial support. With this, it also provides job placements with its Sector Skills Councils.
They have developed their placement portal and mobile apps. The portal helps the candidates to connect to employers and recruits, thereby increasing the chances of employment. This makes NSDC a more reliable and valued certification for employment.
Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management (TSCFM) offers PG Diploma in Management and a 4-in-1 Professional Diploma in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance with an accredited Certification with NSDC. Due to its reputation, this certificate is accepted both in Government and Private Sectors. To know more about TSCFM’s courses, please click here.
