Amazon India launched Karigar mela

Amazon India on Monday announced the launch of Karigar Mela in collaboration with Tribes India, wherein the e-commerce platform will feature a dedicated storefront for traditional tribal and local Indian handicrafts. As a part of the initiative, clients will actually be able to access and shop from a selection of over 1.2 lakh unique traditional tribal and local Indian handicrafts and handloom selections, a statement said.
Some of the unique art forms that will be available in products listed for purchase as a part of Karigar Mela include Bidri, Dhokra, Ikkat, Patachitra, blue art pottery, and so forth, it added.
As a part of the Karigar Mela drive, Karigar sellers will likewise benefit from a 100% selling on Amazon (SoA) fee waiver for two weeks from August 30-September 12.
“The tribal artisan and weaver community are at the nucleus of the Indian economy. It is additionally one of the segments that have been most seriously hit because of the continuous pandemic. The launch of Karigar Mela will play an important part in helping artisans and weavers revive their occupations and accelerate their growth during these difficult times,” Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, was quoted as saying.
