Amazon launches its largest fulfillment centre in India
Internet business giant Amazon India announced the launch of its biggest fulfillment center in the country, with a capacity limit of more than 2.4 million cubic feet, in Bengaluru.
Amazon India, in a statement, said, “In front of the festive season, this critical development in the framework will give more than 42,000 sellers in Karnataka more prominent than before access to a bigger client base across the country.”
The move is a part of the organization’s plans to grow its pan India fulfillment network to give a total storage capacity limit of 43 million cubic feet to its merchants across the country.
The organization presently has more than 6.5 million cubic feet of extra room spread across its five fulfillment centres.
“This development will likewise make different and significant work opportunities for people from all foundations, particularly for local people in the nearby regions. These will involve a variety of roles in its operations network, including full-time and part-time jobs, with opportunities available to them for training and upskilling,” the statement read.
Prakash Dutta, Amazon India’s VP of client fulfillment operations and production network, said, “Karnataka is a significant area for us, and we are focused on fortifying the local economy in the state. Our focused investment in infrastructure and technology is a testament to that commitment.”
