Lunchclub, a social network for professionals

Lunchclub, a professional networking platform powered by artificial intelligence which uses machine learning algorithms to connect professionals, is eyeing at India expansion.

Pritish Nair, who was previously at Prodigy Finance and GrabOn, has been named as India lead of the platform. The help, which is allowed to use as of now, will before long have a tiered subscription model for users.

Supported by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz and Coatue Management, Lunchclub’s active user base in India has grown multiple times since it launched beta operations in mid-2020, co-founder and CEO Vladimir Novakovski told ET.

“We saw a kind of pretty fast growth in all cases, but I think India was in reality much more so than a portion of the core US cities,” Novakovski said. “What was interesting to see is that people from different industries, including media, entertainment, finance and not simply people from tech, have been signing up.

Lunchclub aims to have a customer base of 100,000 in India before the end of this year. To achieve that, it has partnered with shared workspace provider WeWork and growth accelerator T-Hub. It is likewise working with alumni communities of leading business schools.
