Meta partners with VNTANA for 3D ads
March 28, 2022
Meta Platforms Inc will make it easier for brands to run three-dimensional advertisements on its Facebook and Instagram social media platforms through a new partnership with an e-commerce technology firm.
The mix with VNTANA will permit brands to transfer the 3D models of their items to Facebook and Instagram and easily convert them into advertisements, VNTANA said on Thursday in a press release.
The move is a stepping stone into advertising in the metaverse, said VNTANA Chief Executive Ashley Crowder, referring to the futuristic idea of a collection of virtual worlds that can be accessed to through devices like headsets.
Meta has staked its future on adding to the building of the metaverse, which it has said could take more time to 10 years to be realized.
Meta previously partnered with augmented reality (AR) organizations Modiface and PerfectCorp to help beauty and cosmetic brands all the more effectively run 3D and AR advertising.
“The metaverse is fundamentally the spatial internet,” Crowder said. “An entire universe of possibility that starts with having the right 3D models of your products.”
Facebook and Instagram clients who see a 3D advertisement while browsing on their desktop or phone can interact with a image of a handbag, for example, and move it around to view the item from all the angles.
