Pledge launches platform allowing NGOs to accept crypto payments
April 13, 2022
Fundraising platform Pledge has launched ‘PledgeCrypto’ which allows non-profit entities to accept crypto donations in over 130 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether, and even convert them to fiat currencies.
PledgeCrypto offers a free, fully integrated fiat and crypto donation platform in the business, where donations directly go to confirmed non-profit organizations. It doesn’t need technical experience, crypto wallet or KYC.
Popstar Ariana Grande, who has launched her ‘Safeguard and Defend Trans Youth Fund’ on the platform, has vowed to match up to $1.5 million of her own money in donations.
North of 300 hundred million people all over the world hold cryptocurrency as of now and need to help the causes they care about, said James Citron, CEO of Pledge.
“We have made it seamless for anyone to help the world’s largest network of more than a million verified charities and for charities everywhere to seamlessly accept cryptocurrency and further power their mission,” he added.
To compensate for the environmental impact of crypto mining and transactions, Pledge is additionally launching a feature where each crypto transaction will support verified carbon offset projects via the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Initiative.
