Stand Up India scheme helps 133,995 entrepreneurs

Flagged off on April 5, 2016, the Government of India’s Stand Up India Scheme, which aims to promote entrepreneurship at grassroot level, has till date benefitted close 1.34 lakh entrepreneurs by giving them loans of over ₹30,160 crore.
Giving a significant push to women who wish to go into business, the plan has given the most extreme measure of credits, adding up to almost ₹21,000 crore, to women – 81%.
The ambitious plan was extended for the whole-time frame matching with the fifteenth Finance Commission time of 2020-25 of every 2019-20. As the plan turned 6 on Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it has benefitted north of 1 lakh women promoters.
Further, the plan imagines work with the dreams of aspiring SC, ST and women entrepreneurs to reality by supporting their energy and enthusiasm and removing many hurdles from their way. The plan has given ₹1,373 crores worth of advances to ST, ₹3,976 crore worth of credits to SC and ₹24,809 crore worth of loans to women entrepreneurs.
Promote entrepreneurship amongst women, SC and ST class. Give credits to greenfield undertakings in manufacturing, services, or the trading sector and exercises united to farming. Work with bank credits between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore to no less than one Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe borrower and at least one woman borrower per bank branch of Scheduled Commercial Banks.
