Swiggy partners with Reliance BP mobility for EV ecosystem

Online food delivery platform Swiggy has partnered with Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) to build an electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, the Bengaluru-based organization said with respect to August 5, a move with regards to its aspiring plans to change to EVs and bring down vehicle costs.
The food delivery startup has additionally cooperated with Hero Lectro, an e-cycle producer, and Fast Despatch Logistics, a last-mile delivery major in the UK, to enable end to end delivery of orders through cargo e-cycles. EV trails are now in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad, the organization said in a statement.
Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety said in a statement the organization was aware of the ecological impact of its operation and was doing whatever it may take to make the journey more sustainable. “Progressing to EVs is a significant step on this path. It will have a positive effect on the climate as well as enable our delivery partners to earn more,” Majety said.
The firm plans to cover 8 lakh kilometers daily in EVs by 2025 and bring down vehicle running costs for 40%. The organization needs to switch over to electric vehicles and has been piloting the plan for almost two years now.
