Walmart to test drone delivery of Corona virus test kits
September 23, 2020
Walmart Inc said it would run a pilot task to delivery self-collection test kits for Covid through drones at clients’ doorsteps.
The U.S. retailer has collaborated together with Quest Diagnostics and automaton administrations supplier DroneUp, to test-deliver collection kits in North Las Vegas from this week and plans to lead a preliminary attempt in Cheektowaga, New York toward the beginning of October.
Not long ago, Walmart directed drone delivery of basic food item and family unit items in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as it quickened the development of its pickup and delivery services with infection wary purchasers favoring home delivery.
The drones launches this week will drop the COVID-19 self-collection kits on garages, front walkways or terraces of homes inside a one-mile sweep of assigned Walmart stores. Clients can self-administer the nasal swab and send back samples to Quest Diagnostics for testing.
