Flipkart expands its hyperlocal service to six cities
April 21, 2021
Walmart-owned Flipkart on Tuesday said it has extended its hyperlocal services ‘Flipkart Quick’ to six new urban cities to give customers protected and consistent access to every day essentials. These extra urban areas incorporate Delhi, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Hyderabad and Pune.
The development assumes significance as different state governments, including Delhi and Maharashtra, have declared end of the week curfews and lockdowns to get control over the second wave of the pandemic, which is seeing a record number of cases being accounted for every day. Most states have permitted the delivery of essentials by means of e-commerce.
In a statement, Flipkart said it plans to introduce this hyperlocal service with different metros and urban cities in a phased way this year. The e-commerce giant had launched Flipkart Quick in Bengaluru a year ago to broaden the accessibility of products and empower fast delivery for buyers who request products from Flipkart hubs in their area.
The hyperlocal delivery service offers a collection of in excess of 3,000 products in classifications like new products of the fruits, dairy, meat, grocery, mobiles, gadgets and baby care.
