Indian army launches encrypted messaging app

Indian Army has evolved an indigenous cease-to-quit encrypted voice, textual content, and video calling app for Android platform over the net, the Ministry of Defence stated on Thursday.
The app named ‘Secure Application for Internet or SAI’ became evolved by means of Col Sai Shankar and has been examined by way of the government’s nodal company CERT-in empanelled auditor and Army Cyber Group.
According to the ministry, the procedure for filing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), hosting the infrastructure on NIC and developing the software for iOS platform is beneath manner.
“The model is just like commercially available messaging packages like WhatsApp, Telegram, SAMVAD and GIMS and utilizes cease-to-stop encryption messaging protocol. SAI rankings over on protection capabilities with neighborhood in-house servers and coding, which can be tweaked as in step with requirements,” said the ministry.
The Indian Army has been proactive against the use of business social media programs by way of its employees to avoid any facts or records leaks or robbery.
