January 17, 2022
PM Narendra Modi, on Saturday, announced that January 16 will be celebrated as National Startup Day, a move that, startup founders say, will give an immense boost to the startup environment. The decision has received an immense boost from startup founders, investors, and entrepreneurs alike.
Pulkit Agrawal, Co-originator and CEO, Trell, said, “Advancing beyond the spending plan gives all entrepreneurs trust and a genuinely needed boost. This drive will improve familiarity with startup environment and job creation besides accelerating support to the country’s entrepreneurial community.”
“The government’s choices and message on prioritizing innovation, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem have three significant features entrepreneurship should be free of bureaucratic silos, an institutional design for development should be assembled, and provide young innovators a platform to grow and prosper,” Agrawal added.
New companies altogether raised an incredible $42 billion out of 2021, up from $11.5 billion of every 2020, signaling strong bullishness of investors on Indian entrepreneurs.
Vidit Aatrey, Founder and CEO, Meesho, said “Under the leadership of Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become a digital leader and is home to the third-largest startup environment internationally”.
