Amazon launches first resource center ‘Digital kendra’

Amazon on Thursday announced the launch of its first Digital Kendra in Surat, Gujarat for digitization of neighborhood MSMEs. The announcement was made at a virtual event organized by Amazon in presence of Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani.
The online e-commerce marketplace, which rivals Walmart-owned Flipkart and others, said significant investments have been made in Gujarat by the organization and enabled thousands of local jobs. Amazon has more than 1 lakh sellers from Gujarat selling on its marketplace.
Amazon Digital Kendras are offline centres set up to assist MSMEs become aware of online selling, third-party services, for example, whipping and logistics support, cataloging assistance, digital marketing services, GST and tax support to establish their online presence.
“Surat is a key MSME hub in the state. Along these lines, we have set our first Digital Kendra in perhaps the main MSME clusters in Surat and in the nation to cater a large number of MSMEs situated in and around the city,” Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice President and Country Head, Amazon India said during the launch.
