AWS launches new program for public sector startups

Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Tuesday reported the launch of AWS Public Sector Startup Ramp in India, another program that is intended to help early stage technology startups to assemble answers for the public sector using its platform. India is the first nation where the program is being rolled out.

“Our experience with India has shown that public sector associations are increasingly keen to explore different ideas and technologies to advance their missions at speed and scale. Startups bring disruptive innovation solutions that create broad impact, and can pivot rapidly to meet society’s evolving needs,” Rahul Sharma, President, Public Sector AISPL, AWS India and South Asia told reported in a virtual briefing.

AWS is doubling down on its focus to serve the public sector, and engage startups with the new AWS Startup Ramp program, he added. Sharma said AWS is locked in with the government in different areas, including healthcare, agriculture, small cities, digital services, transportation and others.
