Capgemini building up India team to ride 5G

Capgemini SE is deliberately building out its India group to serve the next wave of demand for skills in technologies like 5G and edge processing, said Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini in India.
As more global enterprises experiment and co-develop use cases surrounding both the technologies, the organization’s India unit expects to position itself progressively as a hub for such undertakings and has additionally been skilling Indian executives toward this path.
Yardi said that from autonomous cloud to vehicles, increasingly more products and services are getting inserted with programming and that Capgemini has been gaining by this pattern through its “intelligent industry” offering, which remembers work for cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, edge computing and 5G, which are technology areas that have a big footprint in India for the organization.
“Some of the biggest use cases of 5G will be on the shop floor of plants. More organizations will begin taking a look at these use cases and it will be a kind of next wave of demand for skills in India. That is the reason our entire focus is on 5G, edge (computing), and intelligent industry,” he said.
