Facebook messenger adds customer QR code for transactions
Facebook is making it easier to send money in Messenger. The application currently upholds Venmo-like QR codes and personalized links for person-to-person payments with Facebook Pay. With the update, clients can get to their QR code and link in Messenger’s settings to request payments to strangers.
Facebook notes the features work regardless of whether you’re not as of now Facebook friends, which should make it easier to send or request payments to strangers.
That may not seem like the greatest use case, yet it very well may be particularly convenient for the individuals who purchase and sell on Facebook Marketplace, where transactions frequently start on Messenger. Now, instead of turning to Venmo or another outsider application to finalize the payments, buyers and sellers may have more incentive to use Facebook Pay instead. The component is just accessible in the US for the time being, however, the organization said additional updates will be “coming soon.”
Messenger showed off a couple of other new features too, including another “quick reply” bar for responding to photographs and videos, and new chat themes to customize inboxes.
