Future consumer focusing on Digital first model

Expecting consumer behavior of shifting to online shopping because of the COVID-19 pandemic to remain in the long haul, Future Consumer Ltd (FCL) is focusing on changing direction of all business and brand activities to make them Digital First, as per the organization’s yearly report for 2020-21.
The year 2020-21 has been an unprecedented year with COVID-19 bringing the whole world to standstill and the second wave of COVID-19 in March 2021 made the year end with significant disruptions once more, FCL noted in the report.
“During these times, while footfalls at offline retail slowed down, another method of consumption was taken on by Indian masses with e-commerce being an integral part of frequent daily basket shopping,” it said.
The organization said it believes that “habits formed in current times will tend to remain in the long haul as well”.
It has been “agile to adapt itself to ensure your organization’s portfolio commands leading shares in the online basket”, the organization added.
