Google Meet rolls out Green room feature
February 04, 2021
Google is rolling out Green room, a feature that will give users, “quick review” on how they will appear to others before entering the video call. With this feature Google Meet aims to give users a heads up on their settings and save them from awkward situations.
Google stated in a blog post, “When an issue is detected, users can see warning and tips for resolving the common issues”.
Google notes that there is no end-user setting for the green room feature. Before clients join a meeting, they should tap the “Check your sound and video” button that will show up prior to joining a meeting. Before users join a meeting, it will open a “green room,” where clients can preview their audio and video.
The screenshot captured by Google Meet reveals the favored alternatives clients will see like microphone, speaker, and the camera. After clients have checked the quality of the gadgets, they can tap on the Next button to confirm the settings. Google has started rolling out the Green room feature & it will be available within 15 days.
