Google working on Find my Device network
June 21, 2021
Google is reportedly dealing with a ‘Find My Device’ network that will help almost three billion Android clients find their lost devices.
The feature named ‘Spot’ has been spotted in the latest beta of Google Play Services that shows code “referencing the ability for phones to help find different devices,” reports 9to5 Google.
Presently, the beta version refers to helping find “others’ devices” and doesn’t list what sort of devices like telephones, tablets, watches and headphones.
The current ‘Find My Device’ system, described on Google’s support page, can just discover phones that are powered on, have an information or Wi-Fi signal, and have local services enabled.
However, the ‘Spot’ feature will help Android clients track down a lost phones without an internet signal as well. The Find My application on iPhone, iPad, iPod contact, and Mac makes it simple to find missing Apple devices, as well as keep up with the family, all while protecting client safety.
