Government to set guidelines for brands
June 27, 2020
The ministry of consumer affairs is setting up a set of accepted rules for sponsors, setting rules for brands, and promoting offices without precedent for India. The move is planned for checking uncalled for exchange practices, for example, misdirecting claims made by sponsors.
Officials said, “An advertising code is a need, particularly at a time like this when a few promoters are professing to have built up a solution for Covid-19”.
As of late, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), a deliberate self-administrative association discovered 50 promotion crusades by Ayurveda and homeopathic medication producers offering a remedy for Covid-19 in April alone. While the board hailed these deceptive cases to the association government for activity, it doesn’t have the ability to make any move against these sponsors all alone.
