Tech’s redefining the workplace of tomorrow

Workplace, work and workers. It was a time-tested formula that drove economies over hundreds of years. As a result of the pandemic, those components of economic activity are being realigned. The specific order of priority is undergoing a sea change.

Technology is the biggest drivers of change while the workers mind is relooking at the opportunity. Remote working for an extended period has caused the worker’s collective mindset towards the workplace change for good.

The division of labour between machines and people is expected to continue to drift toward machines. Repetitive and daily tasks could be the first to be impacted. Technology is expected to play the important role in the change.

Edtech companies are driving the speed of change, which could be boosted further. Humans will have to increasingly multiply the impact of the task with the support of machines and technology. New skills and techniques that help in raising the bar for collaboration will be developed.

Machines could take the repeatable tasks while humans will step in for the less routine tasks. Companies may look for workers from anywhere. These workers may not work at the traditional workplace of production location.
