Telecom companies make upfront payments for spectrum

Telecom administrators made forthright payments for spectrum on with Bharti Airtel keeping ₹6,323 crore, Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJio) making an installment of ₹5,019.84 crore and Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) ₹574.65 crore.

The installments were made to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for the as of late finished up range sell off, sources near the development said.

In the most limited range closeout since 2013, administrators purchased wireless transmissions worth ₹77,814.80 crore in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz groups on March 2.

RJio purchased most range worth ₹57,122.65 crore. RJio purchased 488.35 MHz in the 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz groups, while Bharti Airtel picked 355.45 MHz of range adding up to ₹18,698.75 crore.

VIL purchased 11.8 MHz of wireless transmissions worth ₹1,993.40 crore as the option to utilize range. A complete amount of 2308.80 MHz range was put available to be purchased, including range lapsing by December 2021.
