Twitter acquires newsletter publishing platform Revue
January 27, 2021
Twitter has acquired newsletter publishing platform Revue, as it looks to foray into long form content and subscription-oriented products. Twitter will be making Revue’s pro features for free to all accounts.
Twitter product lead and VP of publisher products said, “Revue will accelerate our work to help people stay informed about their interests while giving all types of writers a way to monetize their audience by its social media platforms.
Revue allowed its writers and publishers to send free and paid newsletters along with different features like subscriber management, cross publishing on other platforms. Its customers include Chicago Sun Times, The Markup, and Vox Media.
The Dutch start-up will continue to remain as a standalone service, with its team improving the ways writers create their newsletters, build their audience & get paid for their work.
Beykpour and Park said, “Twitter plans to expand the team across various areas, who will build more great experience centred around long format content on the platform”
