Uber pilots package delivery service in India

Ride-hailing platform Uber is now piloting the shipping of packages between consumers in 4 cities, which include Gurugram and Kolkata. The service – Uber Connect – will allow citizens of 4 cities to ship and acquire packages while maintaining social distancing.

All products have to be transportable on two-wheelers, automobile, will be beneath 5 kgs in weight, securely sealed and not include prohibited objects together with alcohol, firearms, foreign money, or risky and unlawful items.

The Uber Connect option will appear within the Uber app as a brand new option in the automobile selection scroller. Users can be prompted to confirm to package deal shipping terms and conditions, and after confirming that the item complies with those terms, users can request shipping.
