VodaIdea launches voice based recharge service

Vodafone Idea launched a voice-based contactless recharge service at its retail shops in India. The service will allow the VodaIdea prepaid users to recharge their numbers while adhering to the social distancing norms enforced within the country to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

When customers visit a VodaIdea retail shop, the store hands them over a cell phone in which they enter their number and the recharge amount. The retailer makes use of the Smart Connect Retailer app to recharge the customer’s phone number.

Now, the enterprise has added a voice-based recharge feature in which customers can speak their recharge option which will be captured through Google Assistant on the Smart Connect Retailer app. According to the organization, Google Assistant can select up the voice from a distance of up to ten feet.
