Amazon acquire Indian retail start-up Perpule

Amazon has acquired a startup in India that is helping offline stores go on the internet, the online business group’s most recent endeavor to make advances on the planet’s second most crowded country where physical keep on driving over 95% of deals.

The American online business bunch said on Tuesday evening that it has acquired Perpule, a four-year-old startup. An administrative documenting showed Amazon Technologies paid $14.7 million to procure the Indian startup in an all-cash deal. The organization is relied upon to spend an extra $5 million or so to repay Perpule’s representatives.

Perpule, which had raised $6.36 million (per insight platform Tracxn), offers a mobile payments device to offline retailers to assist them with digital payments and furthermore build up presence on mini application stores including those run by Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay in India.

“Perpule has assembled a creative cloud-based POS offering that empowers offline stores in India to more readily deal with their stock, checkout interaction and generally speaking client experience,” an Amazon representative said in an statement.
