Amazon Prime video continue investing in local content

India is among the fastest developing business sectors for Amazon Prime Video (APV) universally, and the content streaming platform is focusing its investments on bringing more content and growing the support of a bigger audience in the nation, a top organization official said.

APV, which has as of late joined forces with Airtel to bring a mobile only plan (a worldwide first) for Indian clients, competes with platforms like Netflix, Disney Hotstar, Zee5 and others in the nation.

“We’ve been in the nation throughout the previous four years and becoming very steadily APV is viewed in more than 4,300 urban areas and towns in the nation, and India is among the fastest developing business sectors for Prime and APV. Our interests in content across 10 dialects, both originals and movies, have helped us,” Amazon Prime Video India Director and Country General Manager Gaurav Gandhi told PTI.

He added that as more clients select to watch content on the web, there would be the same number of people watching video online as those watching at the TV throughout the next three to four years.
