Amazon seller services gets fresh fund infusion

Amazon has invested fresh capital to the tune of ₹1,460cr into one of its India units, Amazon Seller Services, according to the regulatory documents. Amazon corporate holdings pvt ltd, Singapore and Amazon.com Inc ltd, Mauritius have made the ₹1,460cr infusion in the unit, documents files with the corporate affairs ministry and shared by the market intelligence firm Tofler showed.
Amazon Seller Services operates the organization’s marketplace that helps the sellers to sell their products online in India and globally.
The board of directors of Amazon Seller services passed the resolution at their meeting in October, 2021.
E-mails sent to Amazon India seeking comments on the fund investment did not elicit a response. According to the data, a significant share of the funds came from Amazon Singapore.
The fresh funds will provide more arsenal to Amazon in India to compete against rivals. Amazon has been infusing in expanding infrastructure and adding solutions to enhance customer and seller experience.
Last month, Amazon has invested ₹1,000cr into its payment’s unit in India. The ₹1,460cr investment into Amazon Seller Services was made during the festive season.
