Digital platforms unlock upto 30% more value for microentrepreneurs

Digital platforms help open up to 30 percent more incentive for micro entrepreneurs who are related with them by helping overcome challenges like market access and credit, a report said on Wednesday.

The report, named ‘Making 10 million Digitally Enabled Micro entrepreneurs’, by IAMAI-KPMG said micro entrepreneurs and OAEs (own record undertakings) onboarded with digital platforms are also stronger to the negative impact of pandemic as platforms took different drives during closure to support them.

The report noticed that cooperative endeavors of government at macro and micro level, institutional bodies and digital platforms can go about as growth catalysts.

It added that micro entrepreneurs are a critical piece of Indian economy both for job creation and contribution to GDP.

Clergyman of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched the report at the sixteenth edition of India Digital Summit 2022, organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
