Flipkart launches Shopsy to boost local entrepreneurship

Walmart-owned Flipkart on Thursday announced the launch of an application ‘Shopsy’ that will allow people to become resellers of products in their organization through platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook.
“With the ability to influence their local network and satisfy their aspirations, clients of Shopsy will actually want to share catalogues of a wide choice of 15 crore products offered by Flipkart sellers, ranging across style, magnificence, phones, electronics and home, among others with potential clients via well-known social media and messaging applications,” a statement said.
“This platform targets giving new to digital commerce consumer’s access to items by improving on the cycle through associations with a trusted person. With Shopsy, Flipkart expects to enable more than 25 million online entrepreneurs by 2023 as they reap the benefits of digital commerce,” it added.
Shopsy clients can impart indexes of products to potential clients via popular social media and messaging applications, place orders for their behalf and earn commissions on the transactions.
