Instagram will add links in caption for a fee
September 14, 2020
Instagram may include links that lets clients include links inside their captions, a patent application documented by Facebook proposes.
The patent application “adding paid links to media captions in a social networking framework” was documented by Facebook, dated September 8, and was first revealed by Protocol. The patent application proposes charging an expense of $2 for letting clients include URL inside their caption.
“On the off chance that the online framework recognizes the text content of the caption includes a string of link text identifying an address, the online framework prompts the presenting client on pay an expense in return for creating a link dependent on the link text,” reads the application.
“Responsive to the getting of the expense from the posting client, the online framework produces the link inside the caption,” it includes.
Right now, Instagram does not allow clients to include links in their captions. Clients can just add links in the Instagram bio.
