Microsoft partners Accenture for greener software

Microsoft Corp, Accenture Plc and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. are collaborating with non-profits like the Linux Foundation and climate groups to create and share approaches to assemble programming that produces less carbon emissions when run in data centres, the famously eager for energy hungry networks of high-powered PCs that are consuming expanding measures of the world’s electricity.
The Green Software Foundation, whose organizers likewise incorporate Microsoft-claimed GitHub and programming consultancy ThoughtWorks, plans to build tools and establish principles for estimating the climate impact of software, and will chip away at preparing for computer programmers who need to figure out how to fabricate programs that consume less energy.
