Microsoft is trying a new solution for the constant request that users see across the internet, crowdsourcing data on which one’s people block and which ones they allow. According to the blog post, this feature is named adaptive notification requests, and the organization is rolling it out after it received positive feedback from testers.

In previous versions, Edge made the notification requests quiet by default, meaning they would be blocked automatically be blocked and show up as a bell icon in the address bars.

The new version is looking to balance between showing users notification requests that they may actually want and hiding ones they don’t.

Microsoft isn’t leaving clients who never need to receive the request for the cold, however you can reenable quiet notice requests by going to Settings, Cookies and Site Permissions, at that point Notifications to toggle them back on. Microsoft will likewise turn on Quiet Notifications consequently in the event that you click “block” on three notification requests in row. Edge will likewise automatically block notification from a site if a client excuses a request with the X button three times in a row or overlooks it by clicking somewhere else on the page four times in row.
