WhatsApp rolls out UPI based payments feature

Facebook-owned instant messaging application WhatsApp seems to have begun rolling out its Unified Payments Interface or UPI-based payments include for more clients, said two sources acquainted with the turn of events.
“NPCI [National Payments Corporation of India] has allowed WhatsApp to onboard more clients and possibly its payments include is presently accessible for all,” said one of the sources on the state of secrecy. “The conventional announcement is likely soon,” the individual added.
WhatsApp had extended the feature to 20 million clients in November 2020.
It’s important that NPCI, the regulating body of UPI, records all outsider applications remembering WhatsApp for its site and signifies which of them are took into account restricted clients with a # symbol pointing to a caveat that it is for restricted clients only.
